The Real Reason You Keep Starting Over Every Monday

It’s Sunday night…you just had a weekend filled with drinks, pizza, dinners out, late nights, netflix binging…and you feel like garbage.

So you say, “That’s it…I’m starting monday”

Meal prep, planning, promising yourself “this time I’ll lose weight”.

Until Wednesday afternoon hits…you’re tired…your calendar was thrown off…you got an extra project at work. All of the sudden your 2 hour workout and chicken and rice plan sounds a lot less appetizing than a cold beer, piece of pizza, and the newest episode of the Boys.

The rest of the week goes down the toilet because you tell yourself…

“Maybe this isn’t the right time.”

“Maybe I’m not cut out for this.”

And so the cycle continues…next monday.

Avoid Perfection.

If you’re reading this…you’re probably a bit of a “perfectionist”.

If you can't be perfect, why even try.

Unfortunately…that work ethic is also the reason one bad meal becomes an entire weekend…one missed workout becomes a week off.

Then the guilt shows up.

And guilt usually leads to more of the behavior you're trying to avoid.

The Solution

The solution isn't finding more motivation.

It's building a different identity.

Instead of asking:

"How do I stay motivated?"

Ask:

"What would someone who takes care of themselves do next?"

Because people who create lasting change don't avoid mistakes.

They just stop treating every mistake like a reason to start over.

You don't need another Monday.

You need to keep going on Wednesday.
